You haven’t had the Whitstable experience until you have sampled one of its native oysters which remain an intrinsic part of Whitstable’s character. Try the Royal Native Oyster Stores next to the Horsebridge, or Wheelers Oyster Bar in Whitstable High Street.
Also, if you get the chance, experience the famous annual Whitstable Oyster Festival which is celebrated every July. Make sure you book your Whitstable holiday cottage in plenty of time though, as this is a very busy period and most accommodation in Whitstable is fully booked in advance.
